THEOLIA Sells 47 MW Wind Power Portfolio in France

THEOLIA sold a wind portfolio in France with a capacity of 47 megawatts (MW) to Boralex, a Canadian company.  Theolia is an independent international developer and operator of wind energy projects.

The company is active primarily in France, Germany and Italy, with operations as well in India, Brazil and Morocco.

The portfolio consists of:

  • a wind farm in operation since December 2006, located in the department of Côtes d’Armor with a capacity of 7 MW,
  • a wind project located in the department of Seine-Maritime with a capacity of 30 MW,
  • a wind project located in the department of l’Eure-et-Loir with a capacity of 10 MW.

For both wind projects, the construction will be managed by THEOLIA France; their commissioning is expected by mid-2010.

Both parties have agreed not to disclose the financial amount of the transaction.

Marc van’t Noordende, CEO of THEOLIA, said: ”Thanks to this sale, THEOLIA exceeds its target announced at the beginning of this year to sell 200 MW of wind projects and assets in 2009”.
