Spire Corporation is the leader in providing manufacturing equipment and turnkey production lines to produce photovoltaic (PV) modules. They are hiring.

Technical Trainer II

Position Summary:Create and develop training courses for Spire Solar Equipment and provide the customer with proper training on Spire Solar equipment and services.

Job Description:

  • Provide technical training on Spire Solar equipment
  • Coordinate customer training visits at Spire Solar and at the customer site
  • Work with Manufacturing and Engineering to develop new equipment specifications, manuals and training programs
  • Work with the Customer Satisfaction Manager on the development and updating of course content
  • Conduct assessment and analysis to identify new training methods accordingly
  • Maintain in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of Spire Solar equipment
  • Work with field service engineers on installations, escalations and upgrades.
  • Experienced and understand detailed technical drawings
  • Provide upper level technical assistance to Technical Service Representatives, Engineering, and external customers using both oral and written communication. This includes diagnosing the problem and walking the customer through the solution
  • Expert in reading schematics, blue prints and drawings to be able to solve technical problems.
  • Expert with use of sophisticated electronic test equipment and hand tools (Voltmeter, amp meter, oscilloscope. etc.).

Qualifications:

  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, Access and Act
  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Must have a command of standard written and spoken English and have ability to accurately communicate technical information verbally and in writing
  • Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and passport is require

PV Systems Engineer

Position Summary: Spire Solar a fast-growing solar system integrator, is looking for Solar PV Systems Engineers to fuel our nationwide expansion. The PV Systems Engineer is responsible for solar system design and documentation.  You will conduct site surveys for PV system design, create AutoCAD drawings for proposed systems, specify materials, and work with project managers in coordinate scheduling and permitting for system installation.  The PV Systems Engineer may assist in other project management duties as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site surveys and recommend optimal solar system designs
  • Create CAD drawings of PV system for proposal, design, and permit applications
  • Obtain business licenses and certifications as required
  • Support Project Manager through following activities:
  • Provide labor and materials specifications, procurement, and scheduling
  • Select suppliers and subcontractors for project execution
  • Advise during project construction
  • Create and maintain contacts with local utilities and state agencies
  • Assist Sales in preparing system proposals, quotations, and contracts

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Prior solar industry experience required
  • Familiarity with solar PV systems, electrical codes
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience in electrical wiring and basic construction practices
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word, MS Project
  • Proposal writing experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Experience in vendor selection and coordination
  • AutoCAD drafting skills

Solar Cell Line Process Engineer

Position Summary: Design and coordinate the processes and equipment required to deliver turn-key solar cell production lines to customers. Individual will be responsible for the successful demonstration of technology and equipment.

Detailed Description:

  • Support new solar cell line installation, process setup and development to enable consistent manufacturing and quality products.
  • Support the transfer of solar process/equipment from manufacturing to production, including establishment of a repeatable, statistically controlled and well documented manufacturing process.
  • Conduct process improvement projects on assigned equipment/process and ensure that all documentation is transferred completely.
  • Perform root cause analysis and detailed tracking in order to develop and implement solar cell line process improvements.
  • Approve acceptance criteria for equipment and technology between Spire Corporation, customer, and suppliers.
  • While working at customer’s site, successfully demonstrate equipment and technology capabilities to achieve customer specification.
  • Train customer personnel on solar cell fabrication and testing processes.
  • May act as Project Manager for independent cell line projects.

Job Qualifications:

  • BS in electrical, chemical, or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience. MS preferred
  • 5 years minimum experience in silicon solar cell processing or research
  • 5+ years experience in technical manufacturing, consulting, or R&D
  • Must have solar cell line equipment experience
  • Demonstrated problem solving and innovative design skills
  • Experienced with corrective action implementation routines
  • Ability to manage projects and people to a schedule and travel domestically and internationally approximately 50% to 60% of the time, with possible extended visits (3-4 weeks) to customer’s site worldwide required
  • Hands on electro-mechanical trouble-shooting ability preferred
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and passport is required
