(Press Release) – The City of Columbus, American Electric Power (AEP), the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO), The U.S. Department of Commerce, The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Small Business Administration are inviting individuals to attend the “SMART Companies Start with E3” – an energy and sustainability event in Columbus, Ohio to be held on Tuesday, October 27th, 2009.
This event will provide attendees with an exciting opportunity to hear from local, state and national leaders on how Columbus and firms in the central Ohio region have worked together to enhance competitiveness by addressing energy and sustainability challenges facing local manufacturers. The event will consist of two parts:
- A kick-off demonstration of “E3: Columbus”, and
- A tour of “SMART” company facilities showcasing sustainability best practices
