Expanding Solar Thermal Developer has openings in Germany and the U.S.

Solar Millennium is involved in the development and deployment of Solar Thermal energy generation around the world. They have offices in both the US and Germany. Recently in the news it was announced that both Citigroup and Deutsche bank are involved obtaining as much as $ 6 billion dollars in funding for the company to develop solar thermal plants in the US. They have open positons listed in Germany and one in the US for an Associate Project developer. The job description and link are included below.

Associate Project Developer

Solar Millennium, LLC, a concentrating solar power plant development company focused on the southwestern United States, has immediate openings for two Associate Project Developer(s) to assist in the development and environmental permitting of parabolic trough solar power plants.

Position Profile:

Assist in project development efforts for large scale solar thermal power projects, with a focus on power project permitting, transmission and interconnection support, land acquisition, government and community relations. This candidate will be part of a team of developers, in-house specialists and work with outside consultants.

• Support project development team in all aspects of development
• Work with environmental consultants and contractors
• Support environmental and permitting processes with jurisdictional agencies
• Support land acquisition efforts
• Support community outreach efforts

Required Qualifications:

• 1- 3 years of project management experience
• Flexibility, ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities a must
• Pro-active, team player with superb organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience working in settings with multiple stakeholders including government agencies
• Demonstrated interest in and commitment to renewable energy
• Experience with project management software and tools

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the electric power sector
• CEQA/NEPA and California AFC experience is a plus
• Education in Project Management
• Experience Level: 1-3 years
