BWEA’s seventh annual event dedicated to wave and tidal energy, will take place on 4th March 2010 at the QEII Centre in Westminster, London. Over 500 government and industry professionals will attend and over 40 companies will be on display at the accompanying exhibition. A networking reception will be held the evening before conference, also at the QEII Centre.

Conference – submit abstracts by 14th December 2009

The conference programme is designed by the BWEA Wave & Tidal Strategy Group, which is made up of members of BWEA, ensuring the most up to date and topical content possible. Members and non-members alike are invited to submit abstracts to speak at the event. BWEA is seeking abstracts from speakers for the following sessions:

  • The Marine Action Plan – Marine Technology Road Map, financing and funding, Infrastructure (grid, skills, supply chain, ports and vessels), planning and consent.
  • Plans in action – projects developing with assistance from the MRPF and projects planed for the next year, lessons learnt from project deployment over the last year.  Focus of these presentations should be about the novel technology that was used, knowledge generated and where possible shared to orchestrate wider industry learning.

BWEA is also considering holding parallel technical sessions during the conference. If you would like your abstract to be considered for these sessions, please indicate so.  Subject areas include:

  1. Site selection & array development (developments to facilitate technology consent and planning):  Topics to include; flow measurements, environmental monitoring and mitigation, geotechnical risk mitigation and array developments & modelling.
  2. Power efficiency & second generation technology (Developments to enhance technology): power take off, blade design, enhanced control to increase energy efficiency, etc.

If you have any questions please contact Oliver Wragg, Wave & Tidal Development Manager, via o.wragg@bwea.com or call Oliver on +44 (0)20 7901 3020.
