Become NABCEP Entry Level PV Certified Over Two Weekends

Appalachian State University in North Carolina will be holding a North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Entry level Photovoltaic (PV) certification course in late September/early October.  The workshop is meant to provide attendees with the “basic concepts, tools, techniques and materials needed to design and construct both battery charging and direct grid tie photovoltaic systems.”  Focusing on the key competencies of the NABCEP Entry level PV installer certification, the workshop will include this certification test at the end of the workshop.

While the NABCEP Entry Level PV installer certification is a voluntary certification, it provides a credential to individuals seeking employment in the field, as the certification is based on national standards.  The cost for the full workshop is $750 ($375 for students).  Arrangements for lodging and meals are up to the attendees.

The workshop will be held at the Campus of Appalachian State University.  The courses run Friday evening (6:00 – 9:00 p.m.), all day Saturday (8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.), and until mid afternoon Sunday (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.), the weekends of September 18th through 20th and October 2nd through 4th, 2009.  Attendance on all 6 days is mandatory.
