Is US HUD Doing Enough to Promote Green and Healthy Homes Sector?

The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, better known as HUD, has increased its involvement in the green and healthy home sector over the past few years. In fact, it recently announced it would provide funding for technical studies relating to green and healthy homes. The overall objective from the resulting studies is to “improve our knowledge of the effects residential green construction has on both indoor environmental quality and occupant health, with a particular focus on children and other sensitive populations.” Additionally, HUD seeks to “improve our knowledge of the benefits of residential green building methods on 1) indoor environmental quality, and 2) occupant health.
